Volvo: 1993 240 stereo code, model number, serial number

Hi
I recently had a new started installed and I had no idea about the existence of
a stereo code until now.  At first, the radio said CODE and I didn't know what
to do so I pushed some stuff, of course, and nothing happened but now it
says EEE when I turn it on.  I've looked through the Archives and I guess I
have to contact a dealer for the code but I saw no mention of EEE.  What does
this mean?  There are places offering codes via email but they want $40!  I
hope a dealer can help me for free.  This is my first Volvo and I look forward
to doing some fixing with little problems when the nicer weather comes.

Call your dealer and give them the model number off the radio and the part number and serial number off the top of the radio. Leave the radio on and the key in the accessary position for a couple of hours that will turn the display back to code.
