-----Question-----
We have a S-80 T6... and live in Central PA.  We had our first snow yesterday.  When driving the car the front wheels were spinning and it made a metal to metal noise.  It only made the noise while it spun... as soon a I would let off it would stop the noise.  Any comments?

Ron,
Front hub bearing going bad, something rubbing against the backing plate, bad axle joint. Jack the car up, run the vehicle listen to the noise and follow it to it's origin.

Ron,
In that case that sounds like the traction control applying the brake to stop the spinning wheel.

Answer
Ron,
If the wheels spin and the tracs is activated then all is working properly, no problem no solution. See the tracs applies the brakes at the wheel that spins so the other wheel will begin to pull the car. So if you are on a slippery surface don't accelerate to the point of spinning the tires and then no noise should be heard, if you need to accelerate to keep moving then the tracs may start working. Second option turn off the tracs. Nothing to worry about.
