Volvo: Volvo ignition, shift linkage, park position

Where and what is the procedure for adjustment of the shift linkage for it to start in park, seems like it doesn't engage the safety mechanism and when in park I can't start it even though I replaced starter and the battery is good?

There are two screws under the shifter cover. Get to them from the right side. You will see on the top of the switch a mark for both neutral and park, position the shifter in park and loosen the screws slide the switch to line up the mark on the switch to the shifter. Test after all the adjustments.
