Volvo: synthetic oil, synthetic oil, oil leak

hello I just bought a 95 940 turbo with 162k and it looks and runs like new, amazing. any way would there be any advantage to running synthetic oil at this time or would a synthetic cuase problems, i hear it has very powerful detergents in it and that may "clean" to well and cause problems.

I have seen where a synthetic oil is used and shortly there after a oil leak occurs. My thoughts are if the car preformed so well to make it to 162K just on regular oil keep using it. Make sure that you change the oil at 3k intervails and things should work out ok. I personally know of a turbo that has 227K and always used regular oil without major problems.
