Hi Ray,

Yesterday, the arrow on the dashboard began flashing in sync with the 'S' on the Economy/Sport switch. At the same time, the lambda indicator came on. This happened briefly about one week ago but then went away until now. Thanks for your help.

The flashing of the arrow and the "S" light indicate that there is a fault in the system and that will need to be addressed and fixed. The lambda light came on also, that might indicated that service is also needed or there is also a fault somewhere in that system. Has that light been on before? Where are you located? Do you have the owners manual that came with the car? You could look in there and see what it said about the lambda light.
