Volvo: 2003 Volvo S60 2.4T: Rough Idle, volvo s60, warantee

Question
Hey I have a '03 S60 2.4T. When warm, the engine idles around 600-700rpm according to the tachometer in the car. When running like this the engine starts vibrating and can be felt in the steering wheel all the time, and sometimes, the vibration can be felt throughout the whole car.

There are no SES lights/codes being thrown.

It has been back to the dealer numberous times with the same complaint and the dealer says there is nothing they can do because idle speed is controlled by the ECU. They said they checked the motor mounts and everything is nice and tight and nothing appears to be wrong with the car at all. In essence, "it is normal", it what they tell me.

This vibration, in my opinion, is not normal, and not acceptable in a vehicle this expensive. The car is still under warantee and I'd like to have it fixed if possible before the warantee expires.

The car currently has 113,000kilometers (~65k miles) on it, and other then the rougher than normal idle it runs superb with plenty of power throughout the powerband.

I'd appreciate any help you can give me with this problem. It's starting to get quite annoying, and even more annoying that I'm told it's normal in such a nice car as this one is.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!

Answer
Dave,
Get the dealer that you go to make an appointment with the service rep from Volvo. When you see he/she demonstrate the problem and explain the fact that an expensive car as such, it should not have this problem. Take a ride in another car to verify that it is not normal.
