Volvo: Odometer broken, should I still buy it?, wheel drive car, volvo 850

Question
I've found a 1995 Volvo 850 turbo sedan for $2100. Carfax show one minor accident with no reported damage. I have no experience with Volvo, but the car looks well maintained, with some service records. The odometer broke at 85K miles (a couple of yrs ago), the owner says it has approx 125K. Is the broken odometer a big deal? Am I walking into an expensive (maintenance) problem car?  THANKS!!

Answer
Leti,
Any front wheel drive car is more to maintain. Volvo has some leaks at the rear main and front pump seal, that is a bit expensive. Brakes are something that wear out frequently. Take the car to a Volvo tech and have him inspect the car and provide you a list of good and bad things. At that point you will better know the condition of the car and the value. Make sure that timing belt has been changed that will cause BIG problems if it fails.
