Volvo: Volvo 2000 S80 low beam headlight relay, turn signal switch, high beams

Question
We have been getting a message of "dipped beam bulb failure" - it has been intermittent.  When it occurs, the low beams that come on as running lights do not work - the high beams still work.  The bulbs are good, and all the regular fuses that have anything to do with the headlights are good.  Ergo, I am thinking there is a headlight relay that is wearing out - but the owner's manual only shows the chart for the regular fuses.  The only relays are in the fuse box in the engine compartment, and they at least look okay with visual inspection - nothing melted, etc.  I once had the problem after driving to a restaurant for dinner - dark after eating, and had to drive back wiht just high beams on - not what one should have to do.  Help!!!!!

Answer
Paul,
There have been a few where the problem was the turn signal switch. Others the SWM (Steering wheel Module). That would require a download of information to repair it. So someone with the capability of downloading the info might be required. You will need the help of a shop to help find the problem.
