Volvo: Transmission&A/C system, flame trap, volvo dealer

Question

I bought a volvo 850 non turbo 1995 last year.. I really like the car very much however there are two issues which make me worried. one of them is the leak of ATF fluid from the transmission, when I look under the car where the trans is located I can see the red atf all around. do you think the trans has to be removed? and the second is the A/C system loses all the freon for example if the car is not used for 2 days.. I took the car both to Volvo dealer and a private A/C service but they were unable to find a leak, I doubt that the evaporator could be bad.. do you agree?

thanks for the help,

Answer
Mete,
The trans front pump seals have been the cause of many leaks in the trans. The trans need to be removed to replace that seal. If you get that done relace the engine rear main seal also, and service the flame trap.
There have been quite a few leaking evaporators on those cars, so if you can not find a leak anywhere else then the evap is very likely.
