Volvo: Turbo sensor failure on 98 V-70, new sensor, turbo boost

Question
Car began stalling intermittently.  Turbo sensor was unpugged and
car ran fine until new sensor arrived and was installed.  After two or
three weeks problem returned.  Car died on road.  I unplugged
sensor and car again ran well.  Repair shop says they put two
sensors in and both failed. (This is the second sensor.) Any ideas
for a fix?  Anyone else experiencing similar issues?
Am running car without sensor connected and it seems to be okay
except no turbo boost.  Check engine light is lit.

Answer
Ray,
There is something that is wrong and you need to get to a shop that has the scanners to read and monitor the readings. If two sensors have been replaced then how about the wiring, could there be a poor connection, or broken wire? It also would help to have the codes that are stored in the control unit. Those codes may leed to the problem. This is not something that is a common problem.
