question regardingy volvo 960 3.0 24V automatic 1996.
when ia.m driving the car sometimes the indicator lamp arrow flashes which means winter mode selected,  and also the winter sports and economy buttons by gearstick flashes then the car looses drive. It will restart but will not drive.

i have replaced the gearbox and radiator but the same symptons still occur.

Any advice many thanks

Answer -
David,
The flashing arrow means that there is a fault code in the trans control unit. You need to get someone that can read the codes and repair the problem. If there are not any codes in the system then I would say that the trans is bad.

Answer
David,
I will assume that those codes you read are from the trans control unit and not the engine. 114 is Mode switch that is the one on the console winter sport and economy. 341 is lock up function in the trans. Internal lock up inop. 313 is the gear position sensor. That is mounted on the trans. Gear position sensors have a high failure rate.
