Volvo: electrical issues, flasher relay, turn signals

Question
I have the check engine light on; the emission light (never extinguishes no matter how many times you tighten the gas cap), the turn signals are not functional... lost? Can you help?

Answer
Steve,
I am not real sure what model car you have, but the check engine light is on because there is a code in the system and that code needs to be read and the proper repair done then the code can be canceled and the light will be off. Simply tighting the gas cap will noy turn off the light The system in your car will preform a self test and if all systems are working correctly the light will remain off. These tests take place as the car is driven during a drive cycle.
Turn signals, check the fuses, the bulbs the flasher relay and the wires to see that they are all good and will deliever the power to the bulbs. Look to see that the lever is operational and the wires are connected.
