Question -
Dear Ray,
I have a VOLVO S40 (new model Year 2004) and since April I have to change (In the official VOLVO garage)the CD Player 3 times due to CD´s stucked.

The problem is as follow:
When I insert a CD,the display show me the massage “loading” and some times (I suppose when the CD is not recognised by the device) the CD player continues in this status for a long time (forever). When I realize that there is problem loading the CD, I press the eject button and the CD player does not eject the CD never again.

The car is in guarantee period but VOLVO Technical Service does not find the origin of problem.

Please try to answer me the following questions:
•   Do you have information about others cases with the same problem.
•   Could you know the origin and possible solution (I only use original CD´s and standard recordable CD´s)

Thanks in advance for your co-operation

Answer -
Javier,
There is a bulletin for Audio System - CD Stuck in Audio Unit. Get a hold of your dealer or call the main Volvo office to get an appontment with the service rep for that dealer.

I would like another point of view because as I comment VOLVO is not able to solve me the problem until the moment.

Answer
Javier,
Having you taken your problem to the dealer with no luck, as I suggested have the Manufactures service rep meet you at the dealer so you can present your problem. If that is not your wish perhaps an aftermarket radio is what you want. There is not any possible way that without going through Volvo that you will receive a factory Volvo radio that is under warranty. There have been problems with a lot of those radios. There is an internal problem reading the CD's and that is the root of the problem.
