Volvo: 94 850 MAF, time outs, grn

Question
I reciently have been going throuh he.. with an 850 coding maf sensor 121.  I replaced with a couple of used.  Now reading a wiring diagram on line there are 2 dif. types in 94 alone, with 4 wires. One (mine) starts with bn/w, gr/red/grn and white.  James sent me two checks neither fit.  the green is 12v power all the time with key on, neither of James' checks fit this.  Can this now be the ecm and which one of the three in the car are affected?  Also on the 4 wirs one is like mine the other in gn/red then brn/w,grn,white.  Sheesh.  I rewired mine figuring I got the wrong one, now at least it starts, but remains to set off the old engine light and 121 code.  If it's not the ecm then I probably ruined the sender by installing in my car without reversing the grn/red , brn/w wires.  Any suggestions at all.  Car runs best now without the maf connected.  Fuel pressure at 38 running and steady with acceleration or deacceleration.  44 with just key on after a few time outs.  Would love any suggestions!  ; Steve

Answer
Steve,
Put back the wires as they should be. Take the car to a shop and have them diagnosis the problem. You should never have to rewire a cars system to fit a new part. Second option take your old MAF to a dealer and get the proper parts that will fit your car. I do not think any of the control units will have been affected. Perhaps wire to the MAF or the MAF itself.
