Volvo: how to remove the starter in an 87 240, impact wrench, battery cable

I have tried to get the top bolt off and I cannot come up with the appropriate tool combination. Could you tell me if I am lying under the car which is the best tool/s to break this top bolt and to get it back on again.

Al,
Remove negitive battery cable. Bolts that go into starter could be 18 or 19mm some have a nut on the bolt, some have threads in the starter. If you have the one that has a nut on the bolt then place a wrench to hold it while turing the bolt. So you need a set of wrenches and sockets extensions ratchet. I use a flex socket on a long extension impact wrench and a wrench for holding.
