Volvo: Cant Read The Codes (no red light flashes), jumper wire, independent shop

Question
1994 850 Turbo Wagon. I tried to check the diagnostic codes this morning to start to troubleshoot the SRS light displaying, but the red light that's supposed to flash the codes doesn't flash at all. Here's what I did:

- Turned the ignition on (position II).

- Put the jumper wire from A into A2, then pressed the black button for one second. Result: no red light.

- Same as above with jumper into B5. No red light.

I sucessfully read the codes some time ago, but not this morning. I'm hoping I skipped doing something I need to do.

Answer
Mick,
Being that you tried to read the codes without any luck, there maybe a problem with the diagnostic system. You will need the help of a Volvo tech from the dealer or an independent shop. Someone that can test that system and also read the codes. I have in the past had to use the Volvo System Tester to read codes that would not otherwise be read the manual way.
