Volvo: 1988 volvo turbo didnt start, starter motor, dynamo

my 88 volvo turbo wouldn't start,I replaced the battery and tested the Dynamo but it still doesn't start and it makes some ticking noise.
what is your advise?

Is the ticking from the starter motor or the engine? If it is the starter then the starter itself may be bad. If its the engine there could be bigger problems internally. If you do not feel comfortable tracing the noise, get a shop to help with the diagnosis.
