Volvo: sevice light, pig tail, rubber plug

i have a 1995 850 t5 gle auto estate and have serviced the car but am unable to turn out the service light.can i do this myself

Under hood right front the diagnositc box "A" insert the pig tail into "A7" push the button four times light lights push button once light will relight push it five times it will relight push it once, the light should flash rapidly indicating it has accepted the reset. All this is done with the key in the on position. There are a few cars that have a YOSAKI instruntment cluster and there is button on the dash behind a small rubber plug. Push that button once.
