Volvo: Electrical, positive cable, loose power

Question
Hi Ray,
I am struggling and so is my Local mechanic. Although my battery is fully charged my car is completely dead. When thr ignition key is turned there are no sound, no lights-nothing at all! My mechanic is strugglig and has managed to test the starter-which is fine. Also all the fuses are fine too.

Any way you could offer some advice or suggestions as to what the problems might be?

Robert

Answer
Robert,
Nothing is working inside the car, but the the battery is good. Check the group of wires that is attached to the positive cable. I have seen these break away and loose power. Sometimes I have seen a positive cable itself go bad and need replacement. The connection between the cable end and the cable is not tight and will not carry the current. The electrical part of the ignition switch has been known to go bad.
