Volvo: Volvo Check engine light, 1995 volvo 960, volvo 960

I have a 1995 Volvo 960.  The check engine light has just come on.  My mechanic ran a computer check on it.  He told me that it was nothing to worry about and there was nothing to harm the engine.    I drove the car home after he reset it and the light didn't come on but the next morning, it came on after 4 minutes.  He said that if any other lights come on, then stop the car and be concerned.  How do I reset the light when it comes on and should I worry about this.

Hello Tommy! There is absolutely something wrong with the car. If the check engine light will not stay off, there is a fault in the emmisions system that needs attention. I would find another mechanic and find out what fault code is stored in the computer. The code will give you a general idea of where the problem is. Just resetting the light will not cure the problem.
