Question
I had a customer push  the transmission selector switch from E to Sport mode while moving. This has happened before on some of the older models we have had and I just used the on board diag. to read the blinks and then reset. It has been a long time since I have had one of these and I can't remember whether it is A or B and which number to plug the pin into and then my sequence. My check engine light is on and the shift up light is blinking ( trans is shifting fine). Can you possibly refresh my memory? Thanks for your time.

Displaying DTCs manually.  A-2 position for the Motronic
                                (fuel system)
                          A-1 Position for the trans


-  Press test button on DLC once.
-  Display and note first DTC.
-  Check if further DTCs are stored by pressing button once more.
-  Display and note all DTCs until first DTC is repeated.

Erasing DTCs manually.

All DTCs must be displayed once before they can be erased. The DTCs may be erased when the first one to be displayed is repeated.



-  Depress DLC test button for at least 5 seconds.
-  LED will light 3 seconds after button has been released.
-  Depress DLC test button for at least another 5 seconds.
-  LED should go out when button is released.
-  Check that DTCs have been erased by pressing button once.
-  DTCs have been erased if code 1-1-1 is displayed.
