Question
My  93 940 tubo won t start. the battery is new within the last year. and i can t afford to go to garage and get it fixed. what do i do.

Now i got the car to start, but it is blow smoke and smells like it is burning oil.

Answer
John,
Is the check engine light on? Have the codes read and see if maybe that will leed you to a defective part. A lot of times a bad Mass air flow meter will cause a vehicle to blow smoke especially black smoke. It will cause a rich running condition. Smoke can also be from coolant getting into the combustion chamber and burning, that is a light color smoke and has a sweet smell to it. Burning oil can also be the cause. A leaking valve guide seal, bad valve guide, weak rings. Sounds as if you need someone with a backround in these cars to look at it and preform some tests. Fuel pressure test, reading any codes, compresson test, etc.
