Volvo: 940 radio, radio shop, cd radio

I have a '93 940 w/ factory casset/radio.  I am looking to replace it with a CD player.  Did they make a CD player for this model and year Volvo?  Can I buy any CD / Radio and make it work with the Volvo harness?

You can in fact have a CD radio installed. Most of the installations I have seen the wires are spliced to power and speakers. However I have heard there are splicing connectors available. The best thing to do is to have a radio shop do the installation and that way there will stand behind their work.
