Volvo: Volvo transmission, volvo transmission, impending trouble

Question
I have a 95 Volvo 850 turbo with about 80,000 miles on it, My daughter drives it, and about three months  ago, the check engine light came on and the transmission upshift arrow started flashing. And she said it would not hardly go. I drove and did not have a problem. It set a code PO730. I cleared the code and didn't have a problem again until today. It set the same code, but works fine. Is it something she's doing, like putting it in the wrong gear instead of drive or do I have impending trouble ahead.

Answer
Hello Wesley! That code shows an incorrect gear change ratio. This is caused by the S1 and S2 shift solonoids in the trans. The solonoids are replaceable but it usually means that the transmission is on its way out. You may be looking at a new trans in the near future.
