Volvo: XC70 Recurring Mystery Start Problem, volvo dealer, blackberry wireless

Question
I have a 2005 XC70 that has failed to start on 3-4 separate occassions as follows:

December 2005 - Turned key, all power on, including heat blowing, etc but no start, no cranking, no clicking, no starter sounds, nothing.  The next day my wife started it with no problems with her separate key.  My key also then worked.  We took it into Volvo for a complete diagnostic, no problems found.

February 4 2006 - Same as above.  About 30 minutes later it started.

February 12 2006 Same as above.  About 5 minutes later it started.  Then 2 hours later it would not start again.  Had roadside assistance bring to dealer.  Dealer started it right away.  Dealer is testing and trying to recreate the issue right now but they seem perplexed.

Potentially Relevant Facts:

This has only happened while I have been driving the car.  My wife usually uses the car and she has no problems.  I have a Blackberry wireless phone/email device that I carry,  I mention this because I know the key has a wireless theft deterent radio signal that it sends to the car. One theory I have is that maybe the Blackberry is somehow interferring.  On the last 2-3 occassions this happened I know I had my blackberry and it was outside of its carrying case potentially making the signal even stronger.  But I can't find anything on the internet about this.  My Volvo dealer acted like I was from Mars for suggesting this but said they would see if anyone else had reported anything.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Bill

Answer
Hello Bill! Aside from any loose wiring, I would suspect the problem to be in the gear position sensor or the CEM(Central Electrical Module). Of course, this is only a guess but it would would seem like the most logical place to start looking for a fault like that. Hope this info helps.
