Volvo: 1983 Volvo 240 Turbo, engine oil filter, air flow sensor

Question
I have a 1983 Volvo 240 Turbo that sat up for about 12 yrs. I just got it running recently and I am having trouble keeping it running.  I replaced the fuel filter, spark plugs & wires, air filter and fuel injectors.  I also changed the radiator coolant, engine oil & filter and transmission filter and fluid and have a new battery.  It was running and now I can not get it to start.  The starter motor is working but will not crank.  Is it the air flow sensor, cold start valve or what?  Please can you shed some light on this?

Answer
Hello Calvin! If the car sat for that long, there can be major issues with the fuel injection system. There could be a fault in the fuel distributor, fuel injectors, control pressure regulator or in the sensor plate. It would be tough to guess at he problem. It is best to get the car to someone who knows Volvo. Otherwise, you can be spending more time and money guessing at the fault. The system can be very complicated to a non-volvo technician. So it is best to have is checked out by an expereienced Volvo shop.
