Question
Thanks so much for your info. I searhced high and low on the internet looking for the location of where the realy switch is, do you have any idea and do you know how involved it would be if I attempted to fix it myspelf? I am handy but not an auto machanic. From what I did find it looks like it is located behind the ashtray.

When I got in the car the other day there was a ticking sound like a turn signal was on however there was not one on. When I turned the car on, it still ticked when I used the turn signal it tickes like it usually does when you use a tunr signal then after the turn it would go back to the wierd ticking. After 2 days of this it stopped and when I try to use the turn signal arm nothing happens, I cant even flash highbeems but all the lights and brake lights work. Please help. I checked fuses, all are ok.
Answer -
The ticking you normally hear when you turn a corner is a mechanical relay turning off and on in regular intervals to activate the light on and off.  It sounds like, some how, that relay got stuck on for quite some time, even when you weren't using the signal.  Eventually, like all things mechanical, the relay probably burned out because it was being used continuously for several days.  I would have your mechanic replace the turn signal relay.  That should fix the problem.  Good luck!

Answer
My experience is with the 240 series, so I don't know where your particular relay is located, but if you're serious about making the repair yourself, I would suggest purchasing a Haynes manual at your local Pepboys for the 850 series.  It will provide a circuit diagram for the turn signal system and tell you exactly where the relay is located.  Good luck!
