Volvo: 96 850 air pump problem, air pumps, thanks in advance

Hi Jimmy,

For some reason the air pump in my 96 850 likes to fill up with water and the check engine light comes on and one thing leads to another.

Is there a way to prevent this from happening?

Hello John! That is a very well known issue with the 850 and S70 air pumps. There is no real way to prevent it from happening again. The pump is in a very bad position where it can get wet often. Make sure the plastic air guide is on and in tact. It can prevent some of the water from getting in there.
