Volvo: overdrive, best bet, volvos

I have a "88 240 volvo that won't shift into overdrive. Could it be the overdrive relay and where is that located. Also any good tips on where to find affordable trim for my Volvo

It is most likely the overdrive relay, which is located behind and to the left of your glove box (you'll have to remove it).  You can find new ones at the junk yard, or order them new from the dealership (or a 3rd party garage).  As for trim, your best bet is to go to a pick-and-pull yard to get them off other Volvos.   Ordering them new from the dealership is very very expensive.  Good luck!
