Volvo: Volvo S-60 Opening the trunk, volvo s 60, volvo s60

I own a 2004 Volvo S60 and am trying to figure out how to open the trunk from inside the vehicle. The dealer tells me I should be able to push the lock button on the doors twice, but that doesn't do it.  I can use the keyless remote trunk button, but that doesn't work with the engine running.  

If you could explain how this works, I would appreciate it!

Hello Donna! The only way I know how to open the trunk is with the remote or with the key. There should be a button on the remote for the trunk lid. Just push the button twice and it should open. If not, the dealer should be able to change the programming.
