Volvo: 1996 Volvo 850 Turbo A/C recharge, vacuum pump, volvo 850

Question
A slow leak (probably the evaporator)and adding refrigerant over the past years has made the system function marginally.

I want to evacuate and recharge my system.  I have access to a vacuum pump and 134A manifold/gauges.  I can't find the high side fitting, only the low side.  I also don't know exactly how much 134A Volvo recommends for a complete recharge.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Answer
Hello Bob! The car does not have a high side fitting. All servicing is done from the low side fitting. 2 lbs of r-134a will give you a full charge. You may want to replace the evaporator or you will lose your charge. The leak can get worse by charging the system too many times.
