Volvo: 1992 Volvo 740 idle problems?, volvo 740, exclamation mark

Question
Hey, I have a 1992 volvo 740.  I have to warm it up for a few minutes before driving, but sometimes, even after the engine is warm the car will die when either coming to a complete stop or actually completely stopped.  The lights go crazy and the rpm gauge starts shooting everywhere.  We're thinking that the idle needs to be set higher.  But some people suggest  I clean the throttle or just clean the idle valve itself.
Also, everytime I break a light I dont recognize comes on.  Its a lightbuld with an exclamation mark inside of it.  Could you tell me what it is and why its coming on?
I appreciate your help.

Josh

Answer
Hello Josh! The stalling could be caused by a number of components in the fuel system. Is the "check engine" light on? If so what fault codes are stored? The more info I have the better I can help you. The light you are seeing when you step on the brake means you have a bulb out.
