Volvo: 1990 240 stereo installation, flathead screwdriver, stock stereo

Question
Hi Jason,

I want install a non-factory CD player in a 1990 240 wagon in the "upper" stereo slot.  I'm not sure how to get the old "stock" stereo out.  I've installed aftermarket radios before so I don't think the wiring will be a problem.  I'd appreciate any help.

Thanks!

Answer
All you need to start with is the removing of the surrounding bezel of the factory radio, probably with a flathead screwdriver.  That should reveal a few mounting screws that can be undone, and allow the radio to slide forward and out the hole.  Then it's just a matter of connecting the power, switch, and speaker channels to the correct wires on your new stereo.  Good luck, shouldn't be too bad a job!
