Volvo: ETS History Question, warranty service, history question

Question
Thank you in advance for reviewing my question...

The ETS light came on in my 2000 C70 HPT.  I know that it likely needs to be replaced, but I have a question which affects my warranty.  The car is now out of warranty, but four months ago (and 4,000 miles ago) I took it in for a warranty service stating (and noting on the invoice) that the car wasn't running smoothly, it seemed to hessitate/slip on acceleration, and it wouldn't accelerate or downshift like it used to.  They stated that they upgraded the car's ECM when I picked it up.  It seemed to run better, but I stated that it still seemed off.  They assured me it was fine and that I was probably just paying more attention to it than I had previously.

Could these symptoms have been the failing of the ETS?  Should I request that they service the part under warranty?

Thank you.

Answer
Hello,
yes those symptoms are related with ETS.
In my opinion, the problem can be solved by cleaning the ETM (Electronic Throttle Module). Go to that service, and ask them they should clean the ETM and then Upgrade the ETM Software, the problem can be solved via this way.
