Volvo: diesel, vw diesel, volvo 740

hello jason,
i wonder if you could help me.i have recently bought a volvo 740 turbo diesel 1987-8.i have been told there is no repair manual.some casting marks on engine have the vw logo.do you know which model vw this engine is from for future spares repair etc?

Unfortunetly you know as much as I do; being that Volvo used a VW diesel engine derivative in their cars.  To get info on books and spare parts I would suggest going to www.brickboard.com.  In the 740 section, you can ask questions for free in their forum.
