Volvo: Volvo V70 Brake warning lights and A/C (2 problems), volvo v70, abs system

Question
Hello!  I have a '99 V70 AWD wagon. When we bought it second hand, I detected a slight odor and dismissed it as "new car". Now I'm thinking it's a leak in the A/C. It's cool enough, but the windshield gets fogged up and a little greasy in the rainy cool weather and even closing everything except the defrost won't unfog it.

Second problem: one day the brake light and ABS light came on while driving. THe odometer and speedometer both stopped working.  Pulled the car over the checked the fluid - fine.  Got back in and drove and just as suddenly the lights went out and the speedometer came back on.  This has been happening intermittently for about a month. Today the "W" mode (arrow pointing up) started flashing along with the brake lights. Even when the brake lights went off, the arrow was still flashing.  WHat the heck? Do I need a new module in the gear box like the manual says about the W mode flashing light? What about the brakes? I already had a mechanic put it on the computer and he detected nothing about the brakes.  Thanks a million!

Answer
Hello,
for AC, I think your heat exchanger is leaking, it should be replace with new one.
for ABS, in my opinion it is because of ABS control module, it should be replaced with new one. But you can drive the car with this problem, because you wrote it is intermittent, when the lamp light the ABS system may not work.
For transmission, if the transmission behaviour is good, check the transmission oil level and quality, if there is no problem, do not worry more, it may have gear selector switch, located on the transmission, the diagnostic trouble code should be found, according to the code we can decide what the problem is. However if it lights at W, as you know it is normal.
Brakes, if the (!) lamp lights, that means your brake pads are worn or brake hydraulic level is low.
