Volvo: 2000 Volvo S80 - emission light, volvo s80, engine management system

My wife didn't tighten the gas gap again and again the emission light has come on along withthe check engine light.  Last time this occured the dealer charged $60 to reset the warning lights.

I know the sequence to reset the service engine light - after an oil change.  What is the sequence to reset the check engine light?

Service Reminder Lamp (after oil change you reset), and check engine light is different. There is sequence to reset for service reminder lamp as you know allready. However, there is no way to reset to check engine light, that means there is problem at emission system, to reset it is not a solution, it is necessary that the root cause of the problem should be found after that the lamp should be "off" by erasing the Diagnostic Trouble Code.
However, as a clue I can you say that in engine compartment (open the front hood) you will find a box for fuses and relays, remove the number 14 fuse (ý think it should be for Engine MAnagement system) and wait approx 5 minutes then insert the fuse its place, you will see that the check engine light will "off", but as ý wrote above this is not a solution, this clears only the lamp but it will light again since there is problem on the car.
