Volvo: 96 855TGA Air Filter, cabin air filter, cabin filter

Hi Jimmy:
Hope all is well with you.  My maintenance book that came with the car indicates that the "control module box filter" should be replaced when I replace the engine air filter.  So I ordered both, but when I opened up the cowl on the passenger side where the cabin blower is, there was no filter over the air intake.  Also, the filter Volvo shipped me doesn't fit in that hole anyway.

So, is the "control module box filter" the cabin air filter or does it go somewhere else?  Is it possible that my model 1996 850 turbo wagon doesn't have this filter?

Hello Dave! The 96 850 does not have a cabin filter or a control module box filter. The 93 850 was the only year that had a filter for the conrol module box. The cabin filter can be instllaed as an option. You would need to buy an installation kit from the dealer. I hope this info helps you.
