Driving & Driving Test Tips: 2 lane road on intersection, traffic signs, left turn

Question
1. On a 2 lane (divided) road, how would we know what lane to take if we would want to go straight ahead (on an intersection), because for some roads, I would have to take the right lane and for others, I would have to take the left. Without any signs, it is almost impossible to find out. I know there are indications directly on the lane itself but sometimes, they are hard to distinguish.

Help please!

unless indicated as a left turn only lane the left lane would go straight if there is a split in the two lane road.  Ususally there are traffic signs prior to the intersection to indicate this along with roadway markings.  but if not use the left lane and proceed with caution if there is any doubt in your mind.
