Driving & Driving Test Tips: accident fault assessment, westbound lanes, insurance fraud

Question
While driving westbound with light traffic, I was in the center lane of 3 westbound lanes. The car to my right, without warning pulled in front of me and slammed on her brakes. There was no damage to her vehicle, she stated: no license, no insurance and left the scene. Am I at fault?

Answer
No you are not and in fact this may be a set up for insurance fraud.  the tactic you just described is called a drive down (cut in front of someone, slam on the brakes and get rear ended).  You should go to your the police with this information, in that; this may not be the first time that this person has done this.
