Driving & Driving Test Tips: Interstate Driving, secretary of states office, illinois secretary of state

Question
I am a student driver on an Illinois learner's pemit. What are the restrictions on interstate travel on a permit. I know that some states allow you to use your illinois permit and others don't. I couldnt find anything on the Illinois Secretary of State website or Rules of the Road. My family does a lot of travel to Iowa and to Indiana and I want to get more experiance on the highway.

Answer
To the best of my knowledge, all states respect and consider legal any other states drivers permits/licenses.  So if you are legal to drive in Illinois, you will be legal in any other state.

You must follow the rules of Illinois of course, and have a responsible driver(parent or legal guardian) with you at all times, and of course follow all rules of the road for other states.

To be sure though, call the Secretary of States office in Illinois near you and ask this same question.
