Driving & Driving Test Tips: right hand driving, buggy drivers, google search

Question
Since left-hand driving must have had its origin in railways why was it changed (in most countries) to right-hand driving?
Thanks

A quick Google search led to this very complete and logical reply:

Seems that it has to do with the way horse drawn wagons were driven in the past.

The US started out driving on the left, but changed to the right, if you scroll down a ways, you will see that explanation, it has to do with us (U.S.) starting out with steering wheels on the right to be like most buggy drivers, but since we were using the right lane, cars soon, around 1900 switched to left steering wheel location so the driver could see to pass.
