What is the best way to go about a driving test, I have mine on thursday 20th of April.  Anything I have to avoid

Each state has different tests. You should be there before the test starts. Dress well. Make sure the car is in good shape. Practice before hand. And I recommend doing a Yahoo search for tips on driving better. This site is for CA.
