In california, how old do you have to be to get a driver's learning permit, and are there any laws regarding driving people under 18?

For your great state, the laws have been changing and it's changing so it's hard for me to keep up to date with this.

I believe it was either 15 or 16 that you were allowed to drive after a driving course and test, yet times are changing and you need to check with the DMV. You also must understand certain states require you in by a certain time and with an adult at all times when driving. Check your states rules. Good luck and sorry
