Driving & Driving Test Tips: skidding, al brown, stopping power

Question
If I am starting to skid on snow or ice what is the best way to get out of the skid? Thank you very much. Al Brown

Answer
This question is quite complex. In simple, you should try to drive your car the way you want to go, for if you go the way the skid is, you could hit another car or other things, yet some experts I have heard recommend going the way of the skid to avoid a turn over. So, both answers I have heard have went against eachother. So for this, I recommend asking AAA, what they recommend. They I believe have skid trainning schools.

My advice is not to get into a skid by trying to avoid it. How? First avoid certain areas which could make you skid. Drive slower in the winter. And pay more attention. Also give your self more stopping power. Have better tires made for the winter. And some people recommend pratice skidding in a safe parking lot. Do not drive to fast on ice. My advice, is read this from ATT and well ask AAA. My advice is based on what I have heard and it doesn't mean it's all right. So, for this, I send people to other sites to double check my answers. If you do a search on yahoo, you will get many ideas about safer driving.
