Driving & Driving Test Tips: You`re my last hope!, florida dmv, road test

Question
Hello,
I need to know what are the age requiremebts to drive in the state of Florida?  I`ve heard two different stories.
(1) That teenagers born 1985 and up get to drive when their 16 and teens born in 1986 have to wait until their 18.
(2) Teens born 1986 and up get to drive when their 16 and 1987 and down have to wait till their 18.

I don`t know anywhere else to turn to find out the answer to this question.  Even if you can`t answer me, maybe you can point me in the right direction of getting an answer.

Thank you very much for your time,
Nili

Answer
Nili-

Thank you for waiting for me to get the correct answer for you.

In the state of Florida, you may get a learner's license at age 15.  You must hold that for six months.  Once you are age 16 and have had your learner's license for six months, you are eligible to take the road test for your full license.

Starting in October, you will be required to wait one year with your learner's license before you can take the road test.  If you haven't taken the road test before that goes into effect, you will have to wait one year.

According to the Florida DMV, having to wait until you are 18 is a rumor and a bad one at that.

I hope that I was able to help.  If you have more questions, please email me again.

Good Luck

Michael
