4 Wheel Drive/SUVs: Fuel mileage, fuel mileage, dodge 2500

Question
I just bought a '96 Dodge 2500 4x4. Would it save me anything by putting on Frt. Lock outs, & install a H2O gas supplier? The truck has a 360 (5.9), automatic. It has 150000 miles, but the trans only has 30000 after rebuild.

Answer
Lee,

There are things that you can do to help the gas mileage.  Most of these items will make such a small difference that they are not usually worth the actual cost.  I doubt that you would even be able to tell any difference by just installing front hubs.

The most common item that will help a little, is a complete intake and exhaust modification, similar to a Bank's Power Pack.

I have found that an ignition upgrade, such as a Jacob's ignition system also helps a little.

There is nothing that I know of that will make a drastic increase in mileage.
