4 Wheel Drive/SUVs: torsion bars, gmc sierra, noticeable difference
Questioni own a1994 gmc sierra fullsize pick up 4x4 350ci automatic the truck rides real rough.i was told the torsion bars are (cranked) all the way back .and this is why i have such a rough ride .i was told if i drop the front end about an inch and a half the ride will be smoother .if this is true how do i go about looseing the torsion bars?i have replaced the shocks all with no change in the ride . any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks rich
AnswerRich,
This is true. If you drop the front end a little, it will allow the suspension to flex a little more. This may not make a real noticeable difference, but will help some.
As far as explaining the process to do this, it would be much easier if you would purchase a repair manual (around $20) from your local parts store.
These manuals are great for troubleshooting and repair.
