4 Wheel Drive/SUVs: torsion bars, gmc sierra, noticeable difference

Question
i own a1994 gmc sierra fullsize pick up 4x4 350ci automatic the truck rides real rough.i was told the torsion bars are (cranked) all the way back .and this is why i have such a rough ride .i was told if i drop the front end about an inch and a half the ride will be smoother .if this is true how do i go about looseing the torsion bars?i have replaced the shocks  all with no change in the ride . any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks rich

Answer
Rich,

This is true.  If you drop the front end a little, it will allow the suspension to flex a little more.  This may not make a real noticeable difference, but will help some.
As far as explaining the process to do this, it would be much easier if you would purchase a repair manual (around $20) from your local parts store.
These manuals are great for troubleshooting and repair.
