4 Wheel Drive/SUVs: transfer case, eddie bower, ford expedition

I have a 2000 ford expedition eddie bower 4x4. It has all time four wheel drive. It is not selecting at the dash.  Is there a way to convert it to a regular 2 wheel drive selector switch. What would cause it not change when i try to put it in four wheel drive. It acts like there is no power to the switch. Is there a fuse i don't know about? I'd appreciate any insight you can give me.

There may be a fuse under the dash for the 4x4 activation. Check the owners manual to be sure and there isn't a way to convery it to a standard 4x4 switch because there is a viscous clutch in the transfer case that isn't present in a regular 4x4 truck so it has to be 4x4 alol the time
