4 Wheel Drive/SUVs: going from dive o reverse, 1995 chevy 1500, lube shop

i got a 1995 chevy 1500 4x4 iwht 94,000 miles when i go from drive to reverse it takes a few seconds for it to actually go into reverse.. does anybody know hwy this is happening?

It sounds like your valves are gummed up.  I would suggest that you take the vehicle to a lube shop, and have the transmission fluid changed, and have a new filter installed.  I have had some luck with trans-medic.  This is an additive that is designed to clean the valve bodies and assist in shifting.
